Aside from waivers, how can I prevent a lawsuit when hosting a snowboard competition in the shop parking lot?
I’m organizing a rail jam and want to make sure we don’t get sued. We lease the location along with an adjacent Bike shop (that shares the parking lot). All competitors will sign a waiver. Is there anything else we can do?
As much as I hate to say this … you really need to talk to a lawyer specializing in tort law and personal injuries!
This section of law is so convoluted, and so easy to make a mistake in, that real professional advice is the only way to keep from making a very expensive mistake!
Your lawyer should approve your waiver, the wording must be exact!
