Should I get a wide snowboard?
My boot size is 11. Most sizing charts I’ve found say I should have a wide snowboard, but my current snowboard is not a wide. What should I go with on my next purchase? I’m afraid I’m going to get a wide board and I’m not going to have the maneuverability I’m used to.
That all depends on the board. Some boards are wider by nature than other boards and some boards are naturally narrower. They even make mid-wide boards. For a size 11 boot you’re going to want to look for a board that has a waist width of 251mm-ish. It’s also going to depend on what stance angles you ride at. Your best bet is look at a bunch of different models that you think you might like and then look at their waist widths. There’s a website that helps out a ton with stuff like this.
