how to transport my skiis?
okay i have a 2004/2005 vw golf tdi it does not have a roof rack
but ive got 2 pairs of skis and a snowboard to take up
the snow board isnt necesarily the most important
the car will be full of people
i need a solution please help
they might fit diagonally across the car inside but im not sure
any ideas would be apreciated
oh and ive asked around no one i know owns one of them roof racks you put in the windows

The window rack thing might not even work if you have a 2-door car.
What I would do in your situation is invest in a ski bag that can hold two sets. Put that long ways on the roof and buy a ratcheting tie-down. You could even use two foam block placed under the ski bag and use the nylon webbing used to secure a canoe or kayak. If you know how to tie the webbing properly it should hold the ski bag in place.
If you don’t have the $$$ to buy a Thule or Yakima rack system, this might be your only course for now. I’m not even 100% sure if Thule or Yakima even makes a fit kit for your car. Smaller model cars don’t always work with the racks. You might have to go thru your VW dealer if you want a rack someday.
